I was inspired more by the title of Keats's poem than by his elaborate poetic imagination.
Keats found his urn to be the perfect correlative for his persistent concern with the longing for permanence in a world of change. My print attempts to reflect a moment of intense Dionysian experience frozen, not in marble, but in a deeply embossed relief print. Later versions did become more elaborate, but I liked this one the best.
