OM


      Recycled 99% pulped rag paper,  (1982)       This piece followed BREASTING THE WAVES seen earlier this year, February 28.

  1. OM? I'm intrigued by the title. I find this 'arrangement' with its spiralling feeling very satisfying. It feels as though it could be converted into a statue of some sort. I can picture it in varying types f metal. The glimpse f the sea would be tricky though.

Om is a Hindu mantric word thought to be a complete expression of Brahman and interpreted as having three sounds representing Brahma or creation, Vishnu or preservation, and Siva or destruction, or as consisting of the same three sounds , representing waking, dreams and deep sleep, along with the following silence which is fulfillment. Also Aum, a word that may be more familiar to you.

    Well, a statue doesn't have to be solid...
