WORLD REFUGEE DAY - June 20

TO MARK WORLD REFUGEE DAY

  In 2000, The United Nations Assembly decided that as from June 20, 2001,  this day will be  celebrated to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Convention relating to the State of  Refugees

The Organization of African Unity had agreed for it to coincide with their African Refugee Day
