COLOR WOODCUTS: Following the previous posted description of the making of a woodcut: if the print is of multiple colors, a separate wood block must be produced for each color. Careful registration (or alignment of image elements) of the separate blocks is key to a successful multi-colored print. The block must be re-inked for every print "pulled".
When it didn't work exactly as intended, AFTERMATH was still considered a successful subject for speculation!
A most striking print and amazing color.
ReplyDeleteRobert was looking at your website yesterday and was very impressed.
A print that one can look into for quite a while and discover real drama. I wonder if my 'story' gleaned from it is valid!
